Richmond was founded in 1837 along a bend in the Brazos River by members of the “Old Three Hundred,” the first settlers to receive land grants in Stephen F. Austin’s original colony. The seat of Fort Bend County, Richmond is infused with history, from the George Park Historical Ranch to a thriving downtown filled with historic buildings and significant landmarks.

Communities in Richmond, Texas

Richmond is home to some of the most successful and established master-planned communities in the Houston region, including Pecan Grove Plantation, opened in 1977.
