Moving to Missouri City, Texas

Home to large and popular master-planned communities including Riverstone and Sienna Plantation, Missouri City has a rich history that dates back to 1853, when Texas first railroad began operating and two real estate investors purchased four square miles of land directly on its route. They advertised their new development as a “land of genial sunshine and eternal summer” in newspapers in St. Louis, hoping that its name of Missouri City would attract new residents. Fast-forward to recent times, and Missouri City has earned kudos from CNN/Money Magazine and USA Today as one of “America’s best places to live” and as one of “Texas safest cities.” Quail Valley was the first master-planned community in Missouri City and also one of the first in the Houston region, with its well-manicured appearance and quality of life maintained today by the Quail Valley Fund. Missouri City is linked to Downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center and other destinations by U.S. 59South and a growing network of efficient
toll roads. Schools are part of the highly regarded Fort Bend Independent School District.
