The Memorial West Area of Houston

“Memorial West” commonly refers to the middle ground between the close-in Memorial area and Katy. It stretches west to Highway 6, with Memorial Drive as its spine, with a succession of wooded, highly desirable neighborhoods: Frostwood; Nottingham; Wilchester; Fleetwood; and Barkers Landing. These neighborhoods are prized for their large, leafy lots, and for highly rated schools in the Houston and Katy school districts, along with many outstanding private schools. Proximity to Energy Corridor employers and to shopping at Memorial City Mall, CityCentre and the Galleria increases the area’s appeal. The redevelopment of the former Exxon Chemical campus nearby is adding a major new attraction. The area is also close to some
of Houston’s most popular parks, including Terry Hershey Park, with its well-used bike and running trails along Buffalo Bayou
