Advancing Health in Houston

Memorial Hermann has created Houston’s largest, full-service, integrated health system focused on advancing the health of the community. For the system’s 5,500 affiliated physicians and 25,000 employees, it means exercising uncompromising commitment to deliver the best health care possible by harnessing leading-edge technology and using the safest methods. For patients, it means having the best tools to prevent health problems as well as the best chance to regain their health following an illness or injury. It’s no wonder Memorial Hermann is the only Houston health system to receive both the National Quality Forum’s National Quality Healthcare Award in 2009 and the 2012 John M. Eisenberg Award for Patient Safety and Quality from The Joint Commission and the National Quality Forum, the nation’s guardians of health and safety

One of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the nation, Memorial Hermann is an integrated system with an exceptional medical staff and more than 25,000 employees, serving Southeast Texas and the Greater Houston community with more than 275 care delivery sites. The system owns and operates 15 hospitals and has joint ventures with four other hospital facilities. The Memorial Hermann network includes the country’s busiest Level I trauma center, an academic medical center affiliated with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth and numerous specialty programs and services. The system also operates three Heart & Vascular Institute locations; the Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience Institute at the Texas Medical Center; the IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute at four locations; eight Memorial Hermann Joint Centers offering advanced treatment options for joint pain; Women’s Memorial Hermann; Memorial Hermann Life Flight® – the largest and busiest air ambulance service in the United States; the Prevention and Recovery Center for chemical dependency treatment; and a comprehensive array of home health services, rehabilitation centers, outpatient imaging and laboratory services. The system’s ambulatory care network also includes Memorial Hermann Urgent Care and Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Centers. Using its resources to advance the health of the community, Memorial Hermann contributes in excess of $451 million annually in uncompensated care and community benefit programs, including an award-winning network of public schoolbased health centers.

Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital is the premier healthcare provider for the Lake Houston area and surrounding communities. The primary hospital for passengers at Bush Intercontinental Airport, Memorial Hermann Northeast provides a full array of high-quality services, patient-centered care and leading-edge technology. The hospital’s highly trained and experienced staff and affiliated doctors span a diverse range of medical specialties and disciplines to offer area residents exceptional care close to home, including interventional cardiology, wound care, spine surgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, robotic surgery and women’s services. A collaboration with UT Physicians brings additional specialized expertise to the campus in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, orthopedics and oncology. The hospital offers Houston’s longest-accredited Cancer Center outside the Texas Medical Center. The Imaging Center features top-of-the-line imaging technologies including tomosynthesis (3D mammography). In order to better meet the needs of lower-acuity patients, Memorial Hermann Northeast opened a $2.93 million Clinical Decision Unit where patients can receive dedicated monitoring following a procedure or Emergency Center visit. The hospital recently broke ground on a new 123,000-square foot patient tower with 90 updated patient rooms and dining services that will provide an enhanced experience for patients, visitors, and staff. The hospital is a strong supporter of the community and serves as the official healthcare provider for three area school district athletic programs.

Affiliated with Memorial Hermann Northeast, the Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center – Summer Creek, located at Beltway 8 and W. Lake Houston Parkway, provides highly coordinated access to adult and pediatric primary care, specialty services, outpatient imaging and lab services, sports medicine and rehabilitation, women’s services and 24-hour emergency care – all under one roof. Same-day appointment availability and extended evening and weekend hours make it even more convenient for area residents to get the high-quality care they need close to home. A second Lake Houston area Convenient Care Center will open in Kingwood in 2018.
