Houston ranked as the number one city for new graduates, according to OnlineDegrees.com, an education website that promotes college education by QuinStreet, Inc. In their study, they profiled 59 U.S. metropolitan areas with a population over 750,000. Cities were ranked on a 10-point scale with factors including: average rent, cost of living, job market and median earnings, just to name a few.
Some of the factors that make Houston the ideal place for a grad student to plant their feet is the cities diverse culture as well as the fact that Houston is home to many Fortune 500 company headquarters. The fact that so many large successful companies call Houston their home paves the way for graduate students to have potential job growth in the future.
Not only is Houston top for jobs for grads, but also boasts of low rent along with high earnings. Houston has plenty for young grads to do as well, such as spectate their dynamic sports teams, which include the 2017 World Series Champions, the Houston Astros. No to mention the theater and arts category, which is vast with a world-class theater district and plenty of art museums to tour.
