Sienna Plantation Dishes Out Champagne, Macarons Thursdays in July

Prospective home buyers will be treated to the finer things in life Thursdays in July when they tour two of Sienna Plantation’s newest model homes.

Both Gracepoint Homes’ and Toll Brothers’ models in Sienna’s gated neighborhood of Fox Bend will have champagne and French macarons for those touring the well-appointed homes 4-7 p.m. July 7, 14, 21 and 28. The French pastries will be prepared by Houston-based Macaron by Patisse, a French boutique recently featured on CNBC’s “Billion Dollar Buyer.”

Cross Creek Ranch Plans Booming July 2

Old Glory and the birth of America will be commemorated with fun and fireworks at the Cross Creek Ranch Stars and Stripes Celebration Saturday, July 2.

The free, annual event takes place from 6-9:30 p.m. on the big hill at 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane with a variety of festive activities including a dunking booth, a pie-eating contest, face painting, a bounce house and more. Houston favorites The Grateful Geezers will rock the party with renditions of blues, R & B, rock and jazz tunes. The celebration is open to the public.

Sienna Plantation Schools See Big Gains on New Report Card

 Fort Bend ISD schools serving Sienna Plantation students saw a marked increase in the annual rankings recently released by Children at Risk, a non-profit organization that publishes reports on the performance of Texas schools.

Four of the schools serving Sienna Plantation experienced gains of 25 percent or more over 2015 rankings, including Heritage Rose Elementary, which saw a 160 percent climb in the rankings list from last year, indicative of the strength of the current academic staff and curriculum.

Harvest Green Invites Public to Memorial Day Cookout

Harvest Green, Houston’s new farm-centric community, is dishing up the perfect Memorial Day afternoon with a cookout noon to 3 p.m. Monday, May 30.

Open to the public, the event will be held at the community’s model home park. Picnickers can bring their own favorite foods or purchase brisket, ribs, pulled pork and other delectables from Harlem Road Texas BBQ. Families can chill with free Kona Ice snow cones and a DJ will provide music and lead games for fun prizes. Children can enjoy a waterslide and bounce house.

Angel Run in Woodforest Raises $13,000 for Local Scholarships

It was a record-breaking year for the 2016 Angel Run in Woodforest, as approximately 350 competitors raised nearly $13,000 for local scholarships.

The commemorative fundraiser has attracted roughly 300-500 racers each year since its inception in 2012. Including this year, the race has raised more than $30,000 for scholarships in Montgomery County.

Sign-Up Continues for Cross Creek Ranch Summer Camps

Registration is continuing for a variety of art- and science-themed summer camps to be held in Fulshear master-planned community Cross Creek Ranch beginning June 6.

Eight weekly day camps are available, covering a range of topics from art and theater to robotics and space exploration. All camps will be held at Cross Creek Ranch’s community center, 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane, and are open to the public.
