Registration continues for 2016 Takeaway Tourettes Charity Golf Tournament at Woodforest

Formidable foursomes can take a swing at eradicating Tourette Syndrome as registration continues for the Takeaway Tourettes Charity Golf Tournament in Woodforest on Monday, Nov. 7.

Team slots are still available for the event, to be held at the Woodforest Golf Club, 1199 Fish Creek Thoroughfare in Montgomery. The cost is $600 per team. Single players can register for $150. Forms can be downloaded from the Woodforest website at www.woodforesttx.com/takeaway.

Woodforest Plans Oct. 23 Hard Hat Tour

Homes are beginning to sprout in Woodforest’s Pine Island neighborhood, and the public will have their first chance to see what’s “Blooming in Pine Island” during a hard hat tour 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23.

The special event will tour three showcase homes underway in the gated Estate District of Pine Island, a village of timeless architecture, manicured gardens and tree-lined boulevards. In addition to seeing the progress of the three homes — each requiring approximately one year to build — guests also will enjoy refreshing island drinks.

Jordan Ranch Sets Oct. 22 and 23 Grand Opening

Jordan Ranch, a new master-planned community in Fulshear, is celebrating the debut of eight new model homes with a grand opening event 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 and 23.

Live performances by the Electric Cowboys and Jason Boland and The Stragglers highlight the two-day event, which also will feature the high-flying antics of the Houston Disc and Dogs of Barks 5th Avenue Dock Dogs, face painters, balloon artists and bounce houses in addition to model home tours. Dog trainers will host meet-and-greet sessions after each of their three performances.

Conroe Regional Medical Center Nurse Stakes Claim as Grand Central Park’s First New Homebuyer

One of the greater Houston area’s most anticipated master-planned communities has its first new homebuyers.

Shortly after Grand Central Park announced its line-up of new homebuilders, Sally Sangil of Conroe, a Registered Nurse at Conroe Regional Medical Center, signed on the dotted line with Perry Homes.  With the hospital located across the street from Grand Central Park, Sangil says she can practically walk to work.

Jordan Ranch Adds J. Patrick Homes to List of Builders

 Jordan Ranch, a new master-planned community in Fulshear, is adding J. Patrick Homes to its growing list of builders.

The Houston-area luxury home builder is the seventh to be announced for the 1,350-acre Johnson Development Corp. project, joining David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, Plantation Homes and Westin Homes. Home prices in Jordan Ranch start in the $250,000s.

Mango Punch Brings ‘Uptown Funk’ to Sienna Plantation Sept. 23

Musical group Mango Punch will bring some “Uptown Funk” to Fort Bend’s Sienna Plantation Friday, Sept. 23.

During the free performance, concertgoers can “Move Like Jagger” from 7-10 p.m. at the master-planned community’s amphitheater, 3777 Sienna Parkway. It is open to the public.

Voted the Houston area’s “Best Latin Band” six years in a row by the Houston Music Press, Mango Punch plays a mix of Top 40, salsa and rock.

Harmony Candy Crawl Home Tour Promises Treats for All

Harmony is promising all treats and no tricks during the Harmony Model Home Candy Crawl this October.

Visitors can tour 14 sweetly decorated model homes in the Spring development  10 a.m. to 6 pm. Saturday, Oct. 15, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. Tour maps and treat bags can be picked up at The Thicket recreation center, 3811 Everly Bend Drive.

On Saturday, visitors can enjoy special activities 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Thicket including a pumpkin patch, inflatables, face painting and snacking on Kettle Corn.
