Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital honors outstanding nurses with the DAISY Award

Lee Cantos, RN, and Ranjeetha Reddy, RN, were named Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital’s DAISY Award winners, a national honor that recognizes the contributions of extraordinary nurses.

Cantos was nominated by a number of patients, who praised her kindness and willingness to provide compassionate care. One patient wrote that she was scared during her first night in the hospital, but Cantos went out of her way to make her feel secure.

SUGAR LAND—(September 24, 2014) — When faced with a challenging situation, Ann Hernandez, RN – a nurse in Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital’s emergency department – went the extra mile to comfort a struggling patient and make his family feel secure.  For her caring and concern that day, and her overall commitment to compassionate care, Hernandez was named Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital’s DAISY Award winner for the second quarter of 2014.
