HOUSTON (December 5, 2013) – Lone Star College-North Harris has named Tony Diaz as its new director of intercultural initiatives. In this role, Diaz will be responsible for increasing the college’s engagement with Houston’s growing Hispanic population, with a particular focus on enrollment and student success.
Lone Star College-North Harris and Farouk Systems will hold a grand opening celebration at the newly built CHI Lone Star College-North Harris School of Cosmetology. The facility will welcome its first students beginning in January of 2014. HOUSTON (November 21, 2013)– Lone Star College-North Harris has been selected by the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education to be one of 12 Founding Institutions for the pilot of the Gardner Institute’s Gateways to Completion™ (G2C™) process. Gateways to Completion is a structured course transformation process that will allow faculty and staff at Lone Star College-North Harris to analyze student and institutional performance in lower division gateway courses.
HOUSTON (November 13, 2013) ‒ Registration for the Lone Star College-North Harris winter mini-mester, and spring 2014 classes will open Monday, Nov. 18.
Mini-mesters offer a great opportunity for those looking to get ahead with their degree or certificate. Three-week mini-mester courses are available from December 16 through January 5, and four-week mini-mester courses will run December 16 through January 12. Spring 2014 classes will begin Monday, January 13.
