HOUSTON (July 1, 2014) –Lone Star College-North Harris industrial diesel technology program is currently accepting applications for the 2014 fall semester.

Industrial diesel technology is experiencing rapid growth as construction and oil extraction technologies evolve. Industrial diesel technology is the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of large industrial diesel engines. Such engines may be used to power machines such as trains, large ships, electrical power generators, oil field fracking pumps, and heavy construction equipment.

HOUSTON (May 19, 2014) – There is still time left to register for summer classes at Lone Star College-North Harris! The first summer session begins June 2 and runs through July 8, and the second summer session will take place July 10 through August 17.

Summer classes are also a great opportunity for university students to save time and money with core classes available at a fraction of the cost. Summer I registration will be open until May 30, and Summer II registration will be open until July 9.

HOUSTON (April 15, 2014) –Make your cosmetology career goals a reality at Lone Star College-North Harris. Cosmetology operators are currently in high demand in the Houston area, and LSC-North Harris partners with world-renowned hair care company CHI to offer a part-time cosmetology operator program for professional certification.

The 18-month part-time cosmetology operator program at the CHI Lone Star College-North Harris School of Cosmetology begins May 12. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

HOUSTON (April 2, 2014) – Don’t let your current job stand in the way of expanding your education. LSC-North Harris is now offering a part-time, evening 12-week summer session for esthetician students at the new CHI Lone Star College-North Harris School of Cosmetology.

The 2014 summer esthetician classes will begin May 27 and run through August 17. Classes meet Monday throughFriday from 5 to 10 p.m. Additional evening classes will be offered in the fall semester, to allow students to continue pursuing their esthetician certification.

HOUSTON (March 31, 2014)– Lone Star College-North Harris Latin America Student Organization (LASO) will host the LASO Cultural Showcase, on Apr. 8 at 11:30 a.m. in the Student Services Center, Conference Center, located at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive in Houston. The event will feature Gwendolyn Zepeda, author and the City of Houston’s first poet laureate. This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
