Lone Star College-CyFair is celebrating the opening of its new Center for Academic and Student Engagement (CASE) Building, Friday, Nov. 10, at 9191 Barker Cypress.
“Our new Center for Academic and Student Engagement building was built to accommodate our growing enrollment and to enhance the student’s overall educational experience here at LSC-CyFair,” said LSC-CyFair President Dr. Seelpa Keshvala.
Lone Star College is hosting an information technology job fair for people interested in a career at LSC.
The Lone Star College Office of Technology Services (OTS) is hosting job information sessions to hire PC Technicians, PeopleSoft Developers, Client Technologies Technicians and System Administrators.
Lone Star College opened its doors to a record 89,413 credit students for fall 2017, representing a 4.4 percent increase in credit student enrollment over fall 2016.
“Education is even more critical today as our area continues to recover from Hurricane Harvey,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “We are honored so many students selected Lone Star College for their higher education needs.”
Lone Star College has been named a Top 100 College for Hispanics by Hispanic Outlook magazine.

Lone Star College and University of Houston-Downtown agreed to extend and expand its program to program agreements, making it easier for students to transfer between the two institutions.
“We have no better partnership than the one with University of Houston-Downtown,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “Education is the future for our country. These relationships make us all stronger.”
The Community College Petrochemical Initiative (CCPI) in conjunction with ExxonMobil awarded three Lone Star College-North Harris students scholarships to continue their education.
“We are so grateful for the support ExxonMobil gives to the Community College Petrochemical Initiative,” said Dr. Gerald Napoles, LSC-North Harris president. “These scholarships will help Lone Star College students continue their education and be prepared to join this growing industry.”

Gain first-hand knowledge about LSC-CyFair facilities, programs and resources with attendance at one of multiple summer information sessions. In addition to a campus tour, parents will be provided pertinent information on strategies to support their student in college.
Incoming students should take advantage of multiple opportunities to enroll at Lone Star College-CyFair through a simplified college admissions process.
Attend one of several Enrollment Information Sessions to receive hands-on assistance with enrollment steps and financial aid. In addition, students will be able to complete their Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Shot for $20.
Sessions are set from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. June 27 and July 27 in the Center for Academic and Student Affairs, room 107, at the Barker Cypress campus, 9191 Barker Cypress.
