Texas A&M and Houston Community College launch innovative co-enrollment program for students to pursue engineering degrees

Texas A&M University today announced the formation of the Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy at Houston Community College, an innovative co-enrollment partnership developed to address the state's growing need for engineers. Qualified students will be admitted to the Texas A&M College of Engineering, will complete the first two years of coursework at selected two-year colleges, and will complete their engineering degrees in College Station, Texas.  

Westchase District - Shovels Sunk to Start West Houston Institute

Past winners donate prize money to HCC Newspring Business Plan Competition

Brother-sister team finished in third place and contributed $4,000 to this year's third place prize  

HOUSTON [May 19, 2015] - Returning the favor. That's what Khurum Choudry says he and his sister Shazia Choudry Bhajwa did by funding the $4,000 third place prize at this year's Houston Community College Business Plan Competition. The rising entrepreneurs placed third in 2011 for their proposed business Human Nation, a philanthropic clothing store where three percent of their sales would go to charities.

Texas Swim Academy dipped into big winnings  

HOUSTON [May 12, 2015] - A record 25 teams competed in the eighth annual Business Plan Competition hosted by Houston Community College and Newspring. Some of Houston's rising entrepreneurs received $26,000 in prize money and over $20,000 in in-kind prizes.

"Houston's growth is built on the back of the hardworking small businesses. This competition helps us support our city's economy through nurturing the growth of these entrepreneurs," said Dr. Zachary Hodges, Houston Community College Northwest president.
