Land Tejas Opens Recreation Complex in Miramesa at Canyon Lakes West

Land Tejas and members of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 6 to open a new recreation complex in Miramesa at Canyon Lakes West. 

The five-acre complex includes a 3,000 square-foot clubhouse with exercise

facilities and meeting space overlooking a resort-style pool.  The complex also includes a splash pad, covered pavilion, lighted tennis court, sand volleyball court, playground and dog park.

HOUSTON [June 11, 2014] - Houston Community College Northwest announces Dr. Jerome Drain as the new Dean of Academic Development.

Housed at HCC's Alief Hayes Road campus, Dr. Drain will provide primary administrative leadership and supervision for academic and resource development. This leadership includes a major liaison function with public schools, colleges, universities and appropriate business and community groups in forging partnerships to enhance academic opportunities for students.

Today marks 20 years since Dr. Zachary Hodges accepted the position as President for Houston Community College Northwest.

In his tenure as our leader, he has garnered a long list of accolades including being awarded the 2013 Entrepreneurial President of the Year from National Association of Community College Entrepreneurship, 2010 Diamond Leadership Award from the West Houston Leadership Institute and the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce's 2005 Citizen of the Year.

New speculative development project heading for north Houston - by the Houston Business Journal

Brennan Investment Group LLC, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm, is planning a speculative development project in Houston.

The firm announced Wednesday that it has purchased 11 acres in the north Houston submarket to construct three office warehouse buildings totaling 110,000 square feet, with room to spare for outside storage.

The land purchase, near the intersection of Interstate 45 and FM 1960, will serve the growing demand for manufacturing, assembly and distribution facilities in the Houston area, the company said in a statement.

Spring ISD Campuses Observe Red Ribbon Week with Drug Free Activities Districtwide

HOUSTON – Oct. 28, 2013 - This year, several Spring ISD schools have scheduled a series of activities in conjunction with the National Red Ribbon Celebration, Oct. 23-Nov. 1. The National Family Partnership organized the first Red Ribbon Campaign in the late 1980s in response to the murder of Enrique Camarena, an agent with the Drug Enforcement Agency. Since then, communities across the United States participate annually in the Red Ribbon Celebration, a week-long series of community events that are intended to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
