SKEETERS WIN BACK-TO-BACK GAMES FOR FIRST TIME SINCE AUGUST 5

The Sugar Land Skeeters won their second-straight game for the first time since August 5 with a 7-5 victory over the Bridgeport Bluefish. The win surges the Skeeters to 16-23 in the second half and 52-57 overall.

Sean Gallagher earned his second-straight win, improving to 3-9 on the season. The right-hander went 6.0 innings, allowing four runs overall and three earned runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

(Bridgeport, C.T., August 29, 2014) – The Sugar Land Skeeters take down the Bridgeport Bluefish 10-2 in the series opener at Harbor Yard. With the four-game win streak, the Skeeters stand at the top of the Freedom Division, one game ahead of the Lancaster Barnstormers.

Sean Gallagher started on the mound for Sugar Land and pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs and issuing five strikeouts. The right-hander collected the win in the Friday night game, his first of the season.

SKEETERS WALK-OFF WITH A 4-3 WIN OVER BRIDGEPORT IN GAME 4

The Skeeters were able to overcome a 3-2 deficit in the ninth inning after the visiting pitcher walked in the final two runs to give Sugar Land a 4-3 walk-off win over Bridgeport tonight in Game 4 at Constellation Field. After redeeming last night’s loss with a victory over the Bluefish, the Skeeters are now 9-5 against the Bluefish so far this season, 51-41 overall.

SKEETERS SWEEP SERIES OVER BRIDGEPORT

The Skeeters captured a four-game sweep over the Bluefish with a 4-0 shutout victory tonight at Constellation Field. After blanking Bridgeport, Sugar Land has now held three teams scoreless in 2014 and collected their second series sweep of the season.

Starter David Pauley (6.0,3,0,0,2,5) spent 6.0 innings on the mound and gave up three hits with five strikeouts and two walks. With the help of the Skeeter defense, the right-hander retired 12 batters through the fourth inning and did not allow a run during his time in the game.
