Cooper Students Recognized As Rotary Club Students of the Year

Eight students from The John Cooper Upper School were recognized as Rotary Club Students of the Year at the May 18 luncheon of Rotary Club of The Woodlands. Students are nominated and selected based on their leadership and involvement in various organizations, both in the community and at school, while displaying a sense of fairness, honesty and integrity. The following students were recognized: Isabel Sands and Preston Hodges (12th Grade), Shilpa Rumalla and T.J.

Lakes at Creekside schools - Tomball, Klein ISD’s Earn Top Academic Rankings

A new report of the best public school districts in Texas gives top marks to both the Tomball and Klein Independent School Districts.

Both school districts earned an A for academics according to a study by, a website that reviews data and information for 120,000 K-12 public schools across the country.  The rankings were compiled by thousands of reviews submitted by parents and students as well as from data gathered across key factors including student outcomes. 

Rosehill Christian School State TAPPS Art Results

The RCS Art team had a strong showing at the TAPPS State Art Meet, which was held April 4-5 in Waco.  The competition was very, very strong, as there were over 600 entries, just in our classification.  RCS Art teacher, Kathleen Hughes, said she was so proud of the attitude and effort demonstrated by the students on the team, many of whom were freshmen, and looks forward to the future as this team continues to grow and improve.  The Art team also demonstrated their servant's hearts by volunteering to keep time for speech events, which tremendously help

John Cooper Student Writers, Artists Earn 10 Awards, Continue in National Scholastic Competition

John Cooper Upper School students again had a very strong presence in the regional level adjudication of the 2016 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. Students are awarded Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mentions for their work and students who earn Gold Key awards move on to the national level of the competition, to be held in New York City in June.

Cooper Interact Officers Report On Outreach Activities to Woodlands Rotary Club

THE WOODLANDS - Interact Club executive board members and faculty sponsors from The John Cooper School attended The Rotary Club of The Woodlands luncheon on January 14.  Interact Club President senior Sydney Shannon gave an update on the club's activities and introduced members of Cooper's Interact Executive Committee who were in attendance.

Cooper’s SYMPATHY JONES Receives Five Tommy Tune Nominations

THE WOODLANDS – The John Cooper School’s November, 2013 production of “Sympathy Jones” received five nominations from the Tommy Tune Awards, a Houston-based awards program that recognizes excellence in high school musical theater. The relatively unknown “new secret agent musical” has been nominated in the categories of Best Choreography, Best Musical Direction, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design and Best Ensemble/Chorus.
