New neighborhoods, new model homes and more than 370 new homes sold last year propelled Cross Creek Ranch to be included among the nation’s 25 topselling master-planned communities as reported by two independent research firms.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of the Brazos River, the Fulshear community will offer hayride tours of residents’ brightly bedecked homes. The festive event also will include holiday treats, entertainment and pictures with Santa.
Cross Creek Ranch’s growth continues with the opening of six more neighborhoods and 18 new model homes this year, as well as increasing home sales.
While declining oil prices have softened Houston’s housing market in recent months, the Fulshear community has experienced a nearly 10 percent increase in sales over the previous year, said Rob Bamford, general manager of Cross Creek Ranch.
The creatively-minded can now go where no person has gone before when it comes to decorating scarecrows with registration now open for the 2016 Fulshear Scarecrow Festival, slated forOct. 15.

During the “Places to Go, New Models to See” event, visitors can take a trolley from the Welcome Center, 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane, to the models for a physical tour or enter the virtual world and view them with free Google Cardboard devices that will be given away during the event (while supplies last). Complimentary ice cream is another cool event giveaway.

While the creatively crafted scarecrows may only last a few days, the effects of the 2016 Fulshear Scarecrow Festival — returning Saturday, Oct. 15 — could better the lives of people with autism or intellectual disabilities for years.
The popular festival will support Arts Fulshear for a fifth year and a new beneficiary, the Texana Center, a 501c(3) organization whose mission is to change lives every day through treatment for autism, programs for adults with intellectual disabilities and those with behavioral healthcare issues.
Old Glory and the birth of America will be commemorated with fun and fireworks at the Cross Creek Ranch Stars and Stripes Celebration Saturday, July 2.
The free, annual event takes place from 6-9:30 p.m. on the big hill at 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane with a variety of festive activities including a dunking booth, a pie-eating contest, face painting, a bounce house and more. Houston favorites The Grateful Geezers will rock the party with renditions of blues, R & B, rock and jazz tunes. The celebration is open to the public.
