Lone Star College Foundation, ExxonMobil team up to support student success

 ExxonMobil employees recently donated $45,100 to the Lone Star College Foundation to support the mission of providing student scholarships, funding college programs and building communities.

The gift was part of the Education Match program an employee giving campaign in which ExxonMobil matched donations 3-to-1.

“We are very grateful to the employees of ExxonMobil for supporting Lone Star College students,” said Dr. Stephen C. Head, LSC chancellor. “Their gift is an investment in the future of our students and our community.”

Lone Star College-North Harris hosts Technical Careers and Skill Trades Career Fair

HOUSTON (March 28, 2014) –Lone Star College-North Harris will host its Technical Careers and Skilled Trades Career Fair April 3, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Student Services Building Conference Center. This event is free of charge, open to the public and hosted by Lone Star College Office of Workforce Education and Corporate Partnerships.

All veteran candidates will be offered early admission to the career fair to engage and network with employers and veteran organizations from 3 to 3:30 p.m.

Lone Star College System joins ExxonMobil initiative at rodeo


HOUSTON (Feb. 28, 2014) – Lone Star College System, along with eight other community colleges of the upper Texas Gulf Coast, will have a major presence at the 2014 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo March 4-23 at Reliant Park.

Representatives from each college will be located at the ExxonMobil Community College Petrochemical Initiative (CCPI) exhibit in the foyer of Reliant Center, between Halls A and B, ready to discuss job and career opportunities in the petrochemical and construction trades fields — and how to prepare for them.

In response to the high-demand for jobs in the diesel technology field, Lone Star College-North Harris is launching a new diesel technology program, slated to begin in mid-March.
