Fort Bend Christian Academy Celebrates Grand Opening of Art Pavilion and 6th State Championship of Visual Arts Program

Fort Bend Christian Academy celebrated the grand opening of its 7,000 square-foot Art Pavilion on Sunday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and art demonstrations. Guests enjoyed a cupcake truck celebrating the growth of the school over the past 30 years, and student’s award-winning artwork was on display to recognize their 6 th State Championship at the TAPPS Art competition.

Fort Bend Christian Academy Teacher Feature | Mr. Mirza, the Polyglot

Fort Bend Christian Academy teacher, Robert Mirza, is both an artist and linguist. Not only has he lived all over the globe, but he can speak, and therefore think, in seven languages. As a polyglot, Mirza has a deep appreciation of culture, aesthetics and the world as a whole. 

“I started drawing with the concept of sharing an idea at age 6, and I knew the importance of learning a third language at age 7,” Mirza said.

Fort Bend Christian Academy's Sophomore Benjamin Kopfer Ranked 1st in State in Trombone for Second Year in a Row

Fort Bend Christian Academy high school sophomore Benjamin Kopfer has been playing Bass Trombone for five years and has only been in the FBCA band for two years, but already his musical abilities make him stand out amongst the best. He was ranked 1st in State and was invited to participate in the Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) All-State Band for the second year in a row.

Fort Bend Christian Academy's ASL Club is Serving the Deaf Community in Fort Bend County.

Imagine a space void of background noise—no hum of the lights, no distant chatter, no clatter of heels—just silence. Now, imagine that same space were also full of life and conversation.

It may not seem possible, but for those with little to no hearing, it is. The Fort Bend Deaf Community is a gregarious group, and Tony Slate, FBCA American Sign Language teacher, has created a safe place for the community to unite in fellowship.

Fort Bend Christian Academy Celebrates National Signing Day

Three Fort Bend Christian Academy High School seniors made the pivotal decision to play a sport at the collegiate level.  National Signing Day, usually the first Wednesday of February, is the first day that a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter of Intent with a school that is a member of the United States National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Fort Bend Christian Academy Artists Receive Best of Show and Gold at Rodeo for Second Year in a Row

Fort Bend Christian Academy received "Best of Show" and "Gold Medal" recognitions for two years in a row for the private school division. Professional illustrator and senior at FBCA, Annalise Edwards received "Best of Show" and student Zixi (Tracy) Wang won "Gold Medal".

Dresses for a Difference 

High school senior Margaret Carpenter created Dresses for a Difference, a service project that has left an impact on nearly 100 underprivileged girls.

Inspired by two adopted Haitian children who had dresses made from pillowcases, Maggie saw how the simple garments brought the girls such joy, and she wanted to spread the love.
