Dr. Mujtaba Ali-Khan Named Chief Medical Officer at Kingwood Medical Center

Kingwood Medical Center (KMC) announced Mujtaba Ali-Khan, D.O. has joined its leadership team in the role of Chief Medical Officer, effective April 1.  Dr. Ali-Khan is recognized as a leader in the field of internal medicine and quality and a champion in the area of patient experience.  

Kingwood Medical Center Expands Hours of Pediatric Emergency Room

Kingwood Medical Center will be expanding the hours of the area’s only Pediatric Emergency Room starting April 1, 2017. The Pediatric Emergency Department has provided high quality, personalized, compassionate care to children in a safe, comfortable and child-friendly environment close to home since August 2015.

Kingwood Medical Center Appreciates Dedicated Volunteers

Robert “Bob” Black, 93, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Returning home after serving three years (one in China), Bob attended Colorado School of Mines, and began an extensive career in Oil and Gas. Mr. Black worked “in the field” for Humble Oil, living in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and North Dakota before moving to California, and Australia. He retired in the early 1990s, and subsequently began volunteering for the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and the Berkley Circle Civic Association.

Kingwood Medical Center Welcomes Its First Babies Of The New Year!

Kingwood Medical Center and Dr. Kimberly Tyner helped Ashley Peña and Jonathan Gutierrez, from Cleveland Texas, welcome their newborn twins into the world at 3:52 and 3:53 a.m. on January 1, 2017. The babies’ names are Melanie Aynsli and Jonathan Enrique Jr., and they weighed in at 4 lbs. 8 oz. and 4 lbs. 5 oz. respectively. The babies were born 7 weeks early and will be residents of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit until they are healthy enough to go home.

Kingwood Medical Center Appreciates Dedicated Volunteers

In April 1994, Yvonne Griffin’s husband, Kenneth passed away.  He had been a patient of Kingwood Medical Center 12 times in a 2 ½ year period.  They were both so pleased with the care he received, and the people they encountered, that they discussed the possibility of her volunteering after he passed away.  That was over 22 years ago.

Kingwood Medical Center Hosts Lunch & Learn

Kingwood Medical Center hosted a Lunch and Learn event to raise awareness of a new procedure to address stroke risk in patient with atrial fibrillation. Kingwood Medical Center is the first hospital in northeast Houston to offer patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, an alternative to long-term warfarin medication with the newly approved WATCHMAN Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) Implant.

Kingwood, Texas, October 3, 2016 — One in eight American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, which is a powerful fact that spotlights the need and value of early detection, as that is often our best defense against this disease.  In this spirit, Kingwood Medical Center is excited to announce the Grand Opening of a brand-new comprehensive breast center.  The new center, opening in October, will provide patients with advanced technology and expertise in breast imaging.
