Houston’s Largest Home Tour Features 3 West Houston Developments

Artfully decorated model homes, rousing community events and selfie-worthy pop-up art will offer inspiration during “Houston’s Largest Home Tour” in April.

Throughout the month, 13 Houston-area communities — including the West Houston communities of Cross Creek Ranch, Jordan Ranch and Willow Creek Farms —will open hundreds of model homes and available homes for sale daily. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.

“Around the city, there will be more than 150 model homes to explore, nearly 40 of which can be found in West Houston” said Christen Johnson, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Johnson Development. “Beyond the homes, though, we will have a huge variety of pop-up art perfect for family photos or that Instagram-worthy snap. The tour is really about inspiration, both in home design and feel-good artful moments.”

The tour also will include a variety of free events and temporary art installations that will serve as a backdrop for Instagram-worthy photos.

In Cross Creek Ranch, a 3,200-acre community in Fulshear, the public will have several opportunities to attend events including the April 13 Mutt Strut and Music on the Patio at Italian Maid Café each Friday in April. The pup-friendly Mutt Strut will include a costume contest, pet adoptions, performances by the Houston Disc Dogs, a photo booth and more. Dogs and their owners wanting exercise can participate in a charity walk, with proceeds benefiting the Fort Bend Animal Shelter. Admission to the Mutt Strut is free, but a donation of $10 to Fort Bend PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) or an item to the Fort Bend Animal Shelter is requested.

Giant, artistic flowers will be installed in Cross Creek Ranch during April and 22 model homes will be available to tour. Visit www.crosscreektexas.com for details.

Jordan Ranch, a 1,350-acre project in Fulshear located one mile south of Interstate 10, will have 12 models open during the home tour. Both adults and children can hunt for eggs — some filled with cash — during the Easter Egg Scramble April 13. A petting zoo, photo booth, balloon twisters, pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painters and food trucks add to the fun. Visitors during the month also will be able to picture themselves on the community’s lazy river thanks to a pop-up mirror and art installation during April. Details are available at www.jordanranchtexas.com.

Willow Creek Farms, a 600-acre community just south of Interstate 10 and west of Katy in Brookshire will have four model homes plus inventory homes open during Houston’s Largest Home Tour. A wildflower mural also will be temporarily installed in Willow Creek Farms during the tour. Learn more at www.willowcreektexas.com.
