Relocating to a city as large as Houston can be overwhelming, but getting your family plugged into the right school community can ease the transition and make a new place feel like home.

Often, the right school choice is determined by the school’s ability to balance academics, extracurricular opportunities and spiritual values. Fort Bend Christian Academy, a private school serving grades pre-k through 12, embodies that balance.

Fort Bend Christian Academy Student Margaret Carpenter Serves Underpriviledged Girls

Dresses for a Difference 

High school senior Margaret Carpenter created Dresses for a Difference, a service project that has left an impact on nearly 100 underprivileged girls.

Inspired by two adopted Haitian children who had dresses made from pillowcases, Maggie saw how the simple garments brought the girls such joy, and she wanted to spread the love.

FBCA Alumni Update | Marissa Keith Owen

Alumna Marissa Keith Owen ’08 graduated from Texas A&M nursing school and now has the special opportunity to work with her mom, Andrea Keith, former FBCA teacher.

The two are trauma nurses in the ER atMemorial Hermannmedical center which receives all the life flights. It is one of the busiest level-one trauma centers in the country.

“We have a lot of fun working together,” Andrea said.

Fort Bend Christian Academy Names Head of School

David Pitre, Ph.D. has been named Head of School for Fort Bend Christian Academy.

After beginning his career as an instructor in higher education, Dr. Pitre served independent and Christian independent schools in several senior-administrative roles, including Head of School, founding Head of Upper School, Academic Dean, and Dean of Faculty

Elementary STEM Initiative at Fort Bend Christian Academy

The Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) initiative at FBCA is a collaborative effort with a single mission: produce a God-honoring, cohesive, cutting-edge program that engages learners through riveting, relevant and competitive curriculum. The goal is to yield learners equipped to be problem-solving leaders in college and industry.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Gown by Fort Bend Christian Academy

Ashley Dinges, FBCA ’16, is the eighth FBCA senior to wear a special graduation gown. The gown, passed down from friend to friend, contains meaningful words of encouragement to inspire a fearless future in each young lady.

“The messages that encourage me the most in the gown are ‘live for Him where He leads you’ as well as ‘be an extraordinary ambassador of Christ,’” Dinges said.

Having attended FBCA since Pre-K, Dinges says having people invest time in her and unveil Christ’s love have been her favorite things about the school.

FBCA Eagle Scouts Make Campus Improvements

Many updates to the Fort Bend Christian Academy campus are the result of the dedication and teamwork of Boy Scouts. To complete an Eagle Scout project, the Scouts have to work up a proposal with estimates, get donations for the materials and funds from the community, gather workers and lead the group to accomplish the project.

Currently a junior,Matthew Collinsbegan attending the academy in Pre-K, and his work through the Boy Scouts of America has contributed to the FBCA campus.  

FBCA Lady Eagles Softball wins TAPPS 4A State Championship!

Congratulations to our TAPPS 4A Softball State CHAMPIONS! This year's team, led by Coaches Kelly Carroll and Kelli Jacoby, defeated Dallas Christian 6-1 in the May 13 state championship game. The Fort Bend Christian Academy Lady Eagles finished the season with a 23-6-1 record, winning their last 16 games in a row. Way to go Eagles!
