Homes are beginning to sprout in Woodforest’s Pine Island neighborhood, and the public will have their first chance to see what’s “Blooming in Pine Island” during a hard hat tour 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23.
The special event will tour three showcase homes underway in the gated Estate District of Pine Island, a village of timeless architecture, manicured gardens and tree-lined boulevards. In addition to seeing the progress of the three homes — each requiring approximately one year to build — guests also will enjoy refreshing island drinks.
Harvest Green will take holiday pumpkins to the next level with the help of New York City-based Maniac Pumpkin Carvers during Harvest Fest, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Harvest Green model home park, 618 Vineyard Hollow Court in Richmond.

Get ready for a night to remember at Bridgeland’s 10-year anniversary bash on Friday, Oct. 14, from 6 to 9 p.m.
With food from five, famous local food trucks, outrageous fun for the kids with bouncy houses, rock-wall climbing and racing through obstacle courses, photos with Puffy Pine Cone and Bridgeland Bill, and a live concert with Houston favorite, The Molly Ringwalds, the 10-year anniversary bash is Bridgeland’s must-experience event of the season.
The communities of Tuscan Lakes and Edgewater will demonstrate The Bay Area Art of Living in an October home tour that couples fine architecture with art.
Model homes in both communities will be the canvas for an array of original artwork by local artists that will be on display 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 7 p.m. Sundays throughout October. Visitors can register to win their favorite piece, with one piece of artwork from each model home being given away.

Kiddie Academy of Woodforest — the master-planned community’s first on-site child care center — opens Monday, Sept. 26.
The public has spoken and Ron Brandani has been selected as the resident who best represents master-planned Sienna Plantation during the “I Am Sienna” promotion.
A total of 15,320 votes were cast during the online competition in which five well-known Sienna residents vied to win $5,000 for their favorite charity. Brandani was the winner with 57 percent of the vote.
Visitors to the Woodforest September Showcase will have a chance to win additional prizes during a pop-up giveaway Sept. 25-30.
In addition to the chance to register for a $1,000 gift card to Crate & Barrel, which has been ongoing throughout the month, model home tour organizers are giving people a chance to win an additional $250 Crate & Barrel gift card, as well as a round of golf for two at the Woodforest Golf Club.
