Houston Methodist Pearland Emergency Care Center will house 10 exam rooms, full digital radiography suite, low radiation dose 32-slice CT scanner, ultrasound and a full on-site stat chemistry lab. Located on Broadway at Business Center Dr., the Houston Methodist Pearland Emergency Care Center will provide free parking and fast service.

City of Pearland Outreach Workshop to Provide Feedback to City’s Comprehensive Plan

The City of Pearland is asking residents to be involved, stay involved and voice their opinion on the 2013 - 2014 Comprehensive Plan Update. The Big Picture Outreach Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, located at 2555 Cullen Parkway, Pearland, 77584.  The topics in the Comprehensive Plan include Growth and Infrastructure, Mobility, Housing and Neighborhoods, Economic Development, Parks and Amenities, Land Use and Character Plan, and an Implementation Plan.

Alvin Community College Process Tech Receives Equipment Grant

The petrochemical firm Lyondell-Bassell has awarded a $1,000 grant to the Alvin Community College Process Technology department to purchase equipment for the program.This is the second grant provided to the Process Technology program from Lyondell-Bassell.
    The committee also donated other items that students will use during their training at the college.The donated equipment includes two electric arc flash suits, a 30-minute air pack with extra cylinders along with a wide variety of fittings and valves for simulation.

HCC Northwest breaks ground on new Alief Career Center

HOUSTON (October 11, 2013) -Houston Community College broke groundTuesday on Northwest College's new Alief Career Center, 13803 Bissonnet. The 17,220-square-foot workforce building will be a state-of-the-art learning facility where students can train to qualify for certification in areas of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing.

ExxonMobil Provides Support to University of Houston Clear Lake Education Projects

HOUSTON, October 10, 2013 — Merging the environment with education continues to be the focus of University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Environmental Institute of Houston and partners liked ExxonMobil Baytown sharpen the focus. Most recently, ExxonMobil provided a $7,900 grant to the UH-Clear Lake institute to expand their reach to the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District.
