Spring High Choral Groups Win Top Mark of Excellence Awards in National Competition

Houston – Oct. 15, 2013 - The Spring High School Chorale and Spring High School Mixed Chorus have been named winners in the Mark of Excellence competition. The groups entered the national contest by submitting recorded performances. This year 178 music ensembles from 35 states competed, and the Spring High School ensembles took two of the top awards.  

"It is very rare to win two categories in this national competition,” said Joe Clark, Spring ISD director of performing and visual arts.

Exclusive: Woodlands breaks ground on next multifamily project by Houston Business Journal

The Woodlands Development Co. broke ground Wednesday on its next multifamily project — a mixed-use development within the 66-acre Hughes Landing.

The 390-unit project, dubbed this week Lake’s Edge, will be the third-largest building in the Woodlands, with 825,000 square feet and eight stories.

The project is expected to deliver in the first quarter of 2015.

Hines plans large gated community inside the Loop by Houston Business Journal

Hines said Tuesday it recently acquired a 46-acre property inside the 610 Loop for a new gated residential development.

Plans for the project — Somerset Green at 6900 Old Katy Road — include about 500 three- and four-story single-family townhomes on small lots, as well as community spaces, such as parks and swimming pools.
