New University of Houston Clear Lake Mascot Name Revealed

HOUSTON, October 16, 2013 — During its annual I HEART UHCL festivities, University of Houston-Clear Lake announced the name of the UH-Clear Lake Hawk mascot. With students and staff holding multiple letters spelling out the three finalists – Hunter, Talon and Hawkins – a quick mixing and matching introduced the name “Hunter” to the crowd.

“This is historic – it is a major milestone in the development of UHCL,” says UHCL President William A. Staples.

San Jacinto College Pasadena Texas Sets Open Auditions for ‘Santa’s Christmas Magic’

PASADENA, Texas — San Jacinto College Central’s theatre and film department will hold open public auditions for adults and children to be cast in the annual holiday production “Santa’s Christmas Magic: The Musical.”

Auditions for adults and young people 12 and older will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. Auditions for the children’s chorus (ages 4 to 11) will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, and Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. All auditions will be held in the Powell Arena Theatre on the Central Campus, located at 8060 Spencer Hwy. in Pasadena.
