Brazosport ISD Students and coaches have been working very hard to put on an exciting Track event.

HealthSouth Sugar Land Registered Nurse Named Companywide Award Finalist

Soumalia Camara has been a registered nurse at HealthSouth Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital for two years. In his role, he cares for patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries such as stroke and other neurological disorders, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions, and amputations helping them reach goals and reclaim independence.

Veranda Celebrates Grand Opening with Picnic in the Park May 21st

Celebrating its future with a nod to its past, Veranda will mark its grand opening with an old-fashioned Southern picnic from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 21.

Richmond’s newest master-planned community will serve up Southern food, live music by Hill Country Jane and a variety of picnic games at Wildwood Park Road and Wessendorff Place in Richmond.

Calvary Episcopal Preparatory School Presents Lion King Jr.

The fourth annual Calvary Episcopal Preparatory Drama Club, also known as Calvary Episcopal Players, musical extravaganza of the Lion King Jr. featured 100 students in show stopping costumes and production numbers.  An all-volunteer endeavor, parents, teachers, administration and community members come together to create a one of a kind school based production. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade audition and prepare for this all-encompassing show.

Years after Boy Scout troops set up their final camp on forested property north of Houston at I-45 and Loop 336, the setting once again was a buzz of activity when more than 2,000 prospective homebuyers came to experience the grand opening of Grand Central Park, Montgomery County’s newest community of homes.

Of course, it’s usually when you are running late that 4-year-old Cathy decides to put on her own socks and shoes. So you help her – but this time only! 

Preschool experts say that children should be encouraged whenever they wish to exert their independence. Even though they may need plenty of parental help, preschoolers are typically able to do more than we expect from them.

BISD: Brazoswood and Brazosport High School Students to Launch Rockets, May 13

Brazosport Indendent School District,Goddard Rocket,STEM

For the first time, the public will be able to watch Houston area high school students launch more than 40 rockets May 12–14, 2017 near Smith Point, Texas.

On Saturday, May 13, five classes of 32 students from Brazoswood and Brazosport High schools are scheduled to show off their engineering skills as they launch their rocket creations striving for top speeds and maximum heights.

Alvin Community College Foundation Awards Grants and Honors Staff

The Alvin Community College Foundation recently presented $30,000 in grants and awards at the annual President’s Tea on April 26.

The Innovative Initiative Grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative approaches to fulfill the mission of Alvin Community College. The grants will be used for the 2017-18 academic year.
