The fast-growing Texas 288 community of Meridiana, named 2017 Community of the Year by the Texas Association of Builders and Greater Houston Builders Association, has opened its second phase of approximately 300 homesites.

Meridiana’s second phase features the addition of Chesmar Homes, part of Houston’s new home landscape since 2005, which will add new homes on 60-foot homesites. The community’s second phase also presents new homes by David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes, Plantation Homes, Shea Homes, Taylor Morrison and Trendmaker Homes.

Homes in Meridiana’s second phase range from the $200s to the $600s with homesites from 40 – 100 feet in width. Six new model homes also will open in the second phase this spring.

Houston’s first community with outdoor learning labs for all ages celebrated its grand opening in the spring of 2017. Since then, Meridiana has attracted new home buyers seeking a carefully planned community with resort-style amenities and Texas 288 access just minutes south of Pearland.

“We’ve been very pleased with the response,” says Dan Naef, president of Meridiana developer Rise Communities. “We’re excited to build upon our momentum as we head into our second phase.”

Meridiana’s chief selling point, Naef adds, is its award-winning, lakefront Amenity Village with family pool and cabanas, lap pool, splash pad, fitness center, café, fishing pier and outdoor play area with all-weather ping pong and foosball tables, shaded sitting areas and lush central lawn. A glass-walled conservatory is set over the water adjacent to an Ambassador Yacht for Meridiana canine ambassador Soleil, the community’s lovable golden retriever.

Residents also enjoy the convenience of the on-site Meridiana Elementary School and a full-time, on-site Lifestyle Coordinator who plans movie nights, festivals and other community gatherings.

In addition to Community of the Year, the Greater Houston Builders Association awarded Meridiana Community Entrance of the Year, Community Recreation Center of the Year and Community Landscape Design of the Year for 2017. The association also named Rise Communities as its 2017 Developer of the Year.
To reach Meridiana, take the Meridiana Parkway exit from Texas 288, just minutes south of Pearland, heading north or south. Heading south on Texas 288, take the parkway exit and turn left onto the overpass into Meridiana. Those heading north on Texas 288 can take the parkway exit and turn right into the community.
