Sienna Plantation Wins Master-Planned Community of the Year

Sienna Plantation edged out its younger competitors at the Oct. 7 Greater Houston Business Association’s (GHBA) Houston’s Best PRISM Awards to take home the coveted Master-Planned Community of the Year award.
Established 20 years ago by Johnson Development Corp., the top-selling Fort Bend community has never rested on its laurels, consistently attracting home buyers with an ever-increasing list of amenities, on-site schools and innovative additions.
“Sienna Plantation is, in many ways, the blueprint for all of the master-planned communities that followed it,” said Alvin San Miguel, General Manager of Sienna Plantation. “Being recognized with this prestigious award indicates that we are doing something right. Twenty years down the road, Sienna is still Houston’s premier lifestyle community.”
That lifestyle includes three water parks, six on-site schools, 35+ miles of trails, resident-only events and more than 100 acres of parks and playgrounds.
Committed to sustainability, Sienna’s developers have spent money and care in the preservation of century-old oaks and forested areas throughout the development. Trails feature crushed granite pathways, glimpses of wildlife and a stop at a scenic overlook as well as lakes for fishing and an amphitheater ensconced on a large hill.
The result has been strong buyer demand, prompting the recent opening of three new neighborhoods in the community’s Village of Sawmill Lake — which welcomed the opening Sienna’s fourth recreation complex, Sawmill Lake Club, this month.
Leonetti Elementary, the development’s fourth on-site elementary opened this August. It will be joined by Thornton Middle School next year.
“We are constantly looking for new ways to better serve our residents,” San Miguel said. “It’s why we are considered one of the top-selling communities in the nation and contributed to our winning this award.”
