Inaugural Survivorship Night to take place June 2
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will shine a light on cancer survivors during the Survivorship Night event in The Woodlands, a free, family-friendly concert on Thursday, June 2 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Market Square. This new community event is part of MD Anderson’s annual Survivorship Week, a week of activities to honor those who are living with, through and beyond cancer.
During the live music event, MD Anderson will light the central lawn purple and green in recognition of local survivors. The community is invited to bask in the evening’s light display and music, performed by Already Gone, an Eagles cover band.
All attendees also are invited to take part in an interactive photo booth that will be roaming the crowd during the event. Additionally, physicians and staff from MD Anderson in The Woodlands will be on hand to answer questions about cancer, share information about promising new research and pass out free educational materials and giveaways.
