Lennar will host an Open House for its new concept Next Gen model homes offering two homes under one roof, perfect for multigenerational families, in the Cypress community of Wildwood at Oakcrest and the Texas 288 community, Lakes of Savannah, on Saturday, September 24 from noon – 3 p.m.
The Open House events will be held in Wildwood at Oakcrest, 18018 Dappled Court, and in Lakes at Savannah at 4903 Enchanted Springs Drive in Rosharon.
Wildwood at Oakcrest features Next Gen plans from Lennar’s Brookstone and Vista Collections, starting in the $220s, while Lakes at Savannah features Lennar’s Texas Reserve, Brookstone, Camden and Vista collections starting in the $210s.
Next Gen homes by Lennar combine the features of a luxury home with a full private suite complete with bedroom, bathroom, optional laundry area, kitchenette and living area. The suite also is accessible from a separate and private front entry.
In addition to touring these new-concept homes, guests at either Open House can enjoy a catered lunch and register for the chance to win an Apple Watch. Information will also be available comparing the staggering costs of elderly care while living in a facility as compared to living at home.
According to a 2015 study on the long-term costs of care in Houston conducted by Genworth Financial, a Houston family on average will spend $43,472 per year for a licensed professional to help with cooking, cleaning and running errands and $43,500 per year for a private room in an assisted-living facility.
Besides providing a private living space for an elderly parent, the Next Gen dual-living arrangement represents a solution for families caring for a special needs adult child or for those who frequently host family visitors for extended stays. As a family’s lifestyle changes, the suite can be transformed into a home office, entertainment space, yoga studio or hobby room. ADA accommodations also can be added in the suite.
