Acclaimed Master Planned Community Breaks Ground on Hidden Creek, Expands Lakeland Heights
CYPRESS, TX (June 27, 2014) – Bridgeland, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC), announced today that eight premier Houston-area builders will begin construction on hundreds of homesites in Hidden Creek, the newest neighborhood in the award-winning, 11,400-acre master planned community located in the northwest Houston area.
Beazer Homes, Darling Homes, Meritage Homes, Perry Homes, Ryland Homes, Taylor Morrison Homes, Village Builders and Westin Homes have been selected as the builders for Hidden Creek, the largest section in Bridgeland to date with 1,000 homesites set alongside 142 acres of lakes and waterways. New luxury homes are expected to range in price from $250,000 to over $1 million with various lots available later this summer.
“Hidden Creek will showcase many of the finest home builders in the industry,” said Peter Houghton, Vice President of Master Planned Communities for Bridgeland. “The opening of our largest neighborhood comes at an exciting time given the tremendous demand for upscale homes in the northwest Houston area. Bridgeland continues to attract buyers with its wide range of desirable housing, resort-style amenities and top-notch schools.”
In addition to being the newest and largest community within Lakeland Village, Hidden Creek will introduce an extensive array of amenities, including Lakeland Village Park, a 20-acre green space that will feature an enclosed dog park, basketball court, canoe launch and skate park. Additional tennis courts, picnic areas, walking trails and pavilions also are planned as well as a new splash pad, playground and heated lap pool, which will be open year-round. Amenities in Hidden Creek are in keeping with Bridgeland’s commitment to nature, as the master plan community has dedicated more than 3,000 acres to lakes, trails and parks.
Along with Lakeland Village Park, Hidden Creek also will have three smaller multi-use green spaces, including Tree House Park, which will enable children to play and explore among some of the live oaks that date back to the property’s early rice farming days. Similar to other sections of Lakeland Village, an extensive trail system will be nestled within Hidden Creek, including a 12-foot-wide hike-and-bike trail that will follow along Bridgeland Creek Parkway and Josey Ranch Road. The trail will eventually lead directly to Bridgeland’s Town Center, where the community’s dining, shopping, entertainment and employment venues will be located.
Lakeland Heights, the community’s Traditional Neighborhood Design development (TND), will also offer 144 new homesites and four additional product lines by David Weekley Homes, J. Kyle Homes and Perry Homes. As a TND development, Lakeland Heights was created to have the aesthetic appeal and accessibility of classic Houston neighborhoods like The Heights and West University, but with the updated amenities of a new community. Consequently, homes in Lakeland Heights blend Craftsmen, English Tudor, Classical and French styles and are walking distance from parks, recreational facilities and schools. Eventually, residents will also be able to easily access shops and restaurants in Lakeland Village Center, which anchors the 350-home community.
“Perry Homes is honored to partner with Bridgeland in the new Hidden Creek and traditional Lakeland Heights neighborhoods,” said Billy Shirley, Division President of Perry Homes. “We’re introducing a new series of designs that range from craftsman-style townhomes in Lakeland Heights to estate series homes overlooking the new waterway in Hidden Creek. Our goal is to offer homes that fit every lifestyle. The new designs, unique community amenities and the expansion of the Grand Parkway create a truly unique opportunity to buy in one of the most sought-after communities in the nation.”
Bridgeland won the 2013 “Master Planned Development of the Year” award from the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), just one of the more than 100 accolades the community has received. For more information on Bridgeland, visit www.bridgeland.com, Facebook or Twitter.
