Test drive a kayak or two in master-planned Riverstone as Kayak on the Lake returns 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

Once in the spring and again each fall, Riverstone teams up with Houston-based Fishing Tackle Unlimited for a day of paddling on one of the Fort Bend community’s lakes.

Kayaks by Hobie, Native Watercraft, Perception and Wilderness can be taken for a spin, and brand experts are on hand to share information and expertise.

“It’s such a popular event,” said Nick Deacon, lifestyle director for Riverstone. “Everyone — from beginners to experts — loves trying out the different brands of kayaks, picnicking on the shore and spending a day out on the water. It’s also a great opportunity for the public to get a taste of the lifestyle Riverstone residents enjoy all year long.”

The event is free and no registration is required, but children must have parents present. All participants must sign a liability waiver. Event-goers can park at The Club at Riverstone, 18353 University Boulevard.

Riverstone residents have access to 200 acres of lakes throughout the top-selling community. Residents enjoy kayaking and canoeing, as well as catch-and-release fishing from the community fishing pier.
