THE WOODLANDS – Students in all three division of The John Cooper School shared the gift of giving during the holidays through a variety of outreach opportunities. As is a long-standing tradition in Lower School (grades PK-5) Cooper families participated in the Angel Tree program through the Salvation Army that collected gifts for children, youth and senior citizens. Middle School (grades 6-8) collected food and donations for Montgomery County Emergency Assistance. Middle School Student Council members held a bake sale and “dress down day” resulting in a donation of $1,000 for the social service organization. Upper School students (grades 9-12) in the SPAM Club (Society for the Prevention of Animal Mistreatment) held their annual Santa Paws photo session that raised $552 that was added to donations for three local animal rescue organizations – Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary, Smart Rescue and Jurassic Bark Rescue. Seniors, who hold an outreach drive of some kind throughout the year, made blankets in December that were given to 30 pediatric patients through Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands Hospital. The John Cooper School is an independent, college preparatory school in The Woodlands for students in PK through Grade 12 (www.johncooper.org). # # #
