The first model homes have opened in Balmoral, a Land Tejas community in Humble that will be home to the Texas’ first Crystal Lagoon.
D.R. Horton and Gray Point Homes by Gehan Homes each opened models this summer in Balmoral, located a half mile north of Beltway 8, just east of Highway 59 and minutes from Generation Park. D.R. Horton features six floor plans priced from the $240,000s in the community, with sizes from 1,868 to 2,713 square feet. The model is open daily at 11923 Talman Run Drive.
Gray Point’s model is open at 15430 Royce Holly Drive, displaying details on seven available floor plans priced from the $190,000s and ranging from 1,553 to 2,741 square feet.
“The response in Balmoral has been overwhelming,” said Martha Espinosa, a sales counselor with D.R. Horton, which was the first builder to open a model in the community. “People are very excited about the Crystal Lagoon and all of the other amenities coming into the neighborhood.”
Other Balmoral builders include Colina Homes, HistoryMaker Homes and Westin Homes. Pricing is from the $190,000s. The first several sections under development in 580-acre Balmoral encompass approximately 600 homesites within gated neighborhoods.
Earlier this year, Land Tejas detailed plans for the first Crystal Lagoon to be built in Texas.
Found in resorts and upscale residential projects throughout the world, Crystal Lagoons are environmentally friendly, clear bodies of fresh water that use minimal chemicals and technology to maintain. The patented technology enables low water consumption and can use any type of water — sea, fresh or even brackish water — based on availability.
“We are breaking new ground in master-planned amenities with the Crystal Lagoon, which will be the first in Houston,” said Jennifer Keller, President and Chief Operating Officer of Land Tejas. “We think an amenity this sensational will be a tipping point for homebuyers looking for added value.”
The Balmoral Crystal Lagoon will encompass three beaches — a Kid’s Cove with depths up to 3.5 feet, a family beach with cabanas and lounge chairs and Serenity Beach for adults.
Anchoring the lagoon will be an 8-acre Amenity Village offering a welcome center and a clubhouse overlooking an infinity-edge pool and the Crystal Lagoon. The complex also will have a food truck courtyard, hammock park, sand volleyball court, a playground and a splash pad. A dock will accommodate kayaks and paddleboards, and a “Celebration Lawn” will host community events.
A 12-foot wide GreenBoLT trail system will allow residents to walk, bike or even take electric golf carts and Segways to Balmoral amenities and points of interest.
