The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Cindy Harreld has been named President & CEO.
Harreld began her career at the Chamber in 1983 as the Bookkeeper/Director of Software. She later assumed the responsibilities of Project Manager, coordinating several Chamber committees as well as administrative support to the Board of Directors. In 1988 Harreld became the Director of Membership and Special Projects, organizing the Membership Division as well as many of the fundraising projects of the Chamber. Following the reorganization of the Chamber structure in June of 1990, she became the Director of Special Projects and has successfully coordinated several committees responsible for raising over $115,000 per year.
A resident of the Clear Lake Area since 1974, Harreld is a graduate of Clear Lake High School. Since becoming a member of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce staff she has continued her education by attending several chamber related courses including graduating from the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management at Southern Methodist University in June of 1993.
"We are excited that Cindy Harreld has accepted the permanent position of President & CEO of our Chamber,” said Clear Lake Area Chamber Chairman of the Board Richard A. Simmons, Cokinos, Bosien & Young. “She has worked tirelessly as interim President & CEO, which is a time when many organizations falter, and her efforts are a major reason why our Chamber has continued to move forward during our transition period. The Board is confident that as President & CEO Cindy will serve our Chamber with the same devotion she has shown for the past twenty-five years."
“I am honored that our Board of Directors has entrusted me to lead the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce by serving the community it represents,” Harreld said. “It is my intention to give the same dedication and commitment as the President & CEO as I have given to the organization throughout my adult life.” |
