|Riverstone Posts 100 Percent Sales Increase|

After another robust week of sales, Riverstone is on pace to double 2011 new-home purchases.
The Fort Bend development posted 23 new-home sales the week of May 14, reaching 223 for the year. In comparison, 2011 reports show 111 sales through the same time period.
"Riverstone has had a terrific year," said Tom Wilcox, Riverstone's general manager. "We've introduced several new neighborhoods that are certainly resonating with buyers and we are well located, so residents can easily enjoy all the immediate area has to offer, including the new Constellation Field, the Imperial Farmers Market and the many events at Sugar Land Town Square."
In addition to many new-home sales the week of May 14 builders also started work on nine homes, bringing the year-to-date total number of housing starts to 127, compared with 90 in 2011. Also, 14 buyers closed on new homes in Riverstone last week.
Riverstone posted first-quarter new home sales 91 percent higher than the first quarter of 2011, which was a record-breaking year for the development. That's well above the 34 percent increase seen in the overall Houston area for the first quarter of 2012, as reported by Metrostudy. The housing research firm ranks Riverstone No. 3 on its list of top-selling master-planned communities in the Houston area for the first quarter of 2012. John Burns Real Estate Consulting places Riverstone among the nation's 15 top-selling master-planned communities for 2011.
"We are now just 80 sales away from matching our total new-home sales for 2011," Wilcox said. "Not only are we on track for another record-breaking year of sales, but, in March, we achieved another milestone — 2,000 sales since the community's inception."
