Caldwell Companies’ steadfast and enduring commitment to doing business in the Cy-Fair community with a sense of purpose, and giving back wholeheartedly to the community, has helped earn the company the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce’s 2008 Large Business of the Year award.
“Caldwell Companies was chosen to receive this award because of the company’s long-standing commitment to the Cy-Fair community over the years,” said Reginald Lillie, Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board. “Caldwell’s employees are very involved in the Chamber, with Lone Star College – Cy-Fair and the Cy-Fair school district. The company also supports many Chamber and community events. They have also made a financial investment in our community through their many quality developments.”
Caldwell Companies’ long list of professional and community service projects is driven by the company’s simple mission of “Doing it right. Right now.” Based on that philosophy and 18 years of doing business with a higher purpose in mind, the company has built a solid reputation in the real estate services and development community.
As a result, the majority of Caldwell Companies’ business comes from referrals and existing relationships.
“The Chamber award is a nice compliment to our team and I think, as importantly, a tribute to the area in which we live,” said Fred Caldwell, Caldwell Companies’ president and chief executive officer. “We are blessed to be in business in the Cy-Fair area. The positive business climate fostered by the Chamber, the quality education provided by the Cy-Fair Independent School District and Lone Star College, and the abundance of companies that have chosen Cy-Fair for their corporate headquarters are all major factors in our company’s growth.”
Caldwell said that the firm has been an active member of the Cy-Fair Chamber for many years, which has given the company an opportunity to help shape the business climate and quality of life in Cy-Fair.
“The Cy-Fair Chamber has been a place for our associates to get directly involved in the events and strategies that have helped create a tremendous business environment,” Caldwell said. “We are thankful for the Chamber and for the opportunity to serve the Cy-Fair area.”
The company actively sponsors Cy-Fair Houston Chamber events and recently served as a sponsor in the Chamber’s Spring Fling Golf Tournament.
Many Caldwell employees are active members of local organizations, churches, and volunteer programs. Caldwell Companies has also taken a leadership role in many local outreach programs such Northwest Assistance Ministries, a multi-pronged social service agency that has helped those in need in north and northwest Harris County for more than 25 years.
Caldwell Companies supports the organization’s Interfaith Hospitality Network, a program for the temporary homeless due to divorce, job loss or other unplanned circumstances. Company employees served Christmas Eve dinner to program participants, and utilizing business partnerships and employee sweat equity, completely remodeled the IFN kitchen area that serves families helped by Northwest Assistance Ministries.
Caldwell employees will also be working on the construction of a home in Cy-Fair’s Lancaster neighborhood as part of a Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County project. This marks the fifth straight year that the company has been involved in Habitat construction and fund-raising projects.
Caldwell Companies new development efforts are driven by movements like “new urbanism” and “smart growth,” and incorporate innovative plans for retail, office, multi-family and residential sections in each community. Those concepts are coming to life in Towne Lake, Remington Square and other new developments.
