Cantex Senior Communities has opened Laurel Court in Alvin, its second full-service senior living community to open in the Texas 288 area this year. Laurel Court is 125-bed replacement facility for Alvin Health Care Center, a fixture in Alvin for over 31 years.
The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services gave Alvin Health Care Center an overall rating of 88%. The Texas statewide average for nursing facilities that accept Medicaid and Medicare is 60. Robin Underhill, chief executive officer for Cantex Senior Communities, attributed the center’s high rating to the quality and caring services rendered by its staff coupled with the company’s long-standing philosophy; “Living with Dignity”.
Laurel Court offers round-the-clock licensed clinical support complete with a comprehensive rehabilitation program. Amenities are designed to keep residents as independent and active as possible. Private- and semi-private-occupancy residences are available with private or semi-private bathrooms with showers. All of the residences are equipped with bedside flat-panel televisions, electric beds and wi-fi access. Some of the rooms have a kitchen niche with a refrigerator, microwave and sink. Amenities include full carpeting, a library with internet access, restaurant-style dining, a Chapel and a spacious living room for social gatherings.
The Colonnades at Reflection Bay, located in Pearland on Shadow Creek Parkway, is a 180-bed skilled nursing facility offering residents around-the-clock health care by registered and licensed nurses.
