Shelby Jackson Signs National Letter-of-Intent With Centenary College

Shelby Jackson, 5'8" setter and team captain from the Lady Eagles of Faith West Academy in Katy, TX, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for Centenary College of Louisiana Ladies Volleyball in Shreveport.

 

Jackson was TAPPS 1st Team All-District, TAPPS 2nd Team All-State, TAPPS Academic All-State, and FWA MVP Offensive Player of the Year.  Jackson's school record in assists: 267, kills: 25, digs: 50, and blocks: 6. "Shelby was a leader-the encourager on the team,' said Tara Montgomery, FWA Volleyball Head Coach. 'She lifted everyone's spirit, Shelby was the team motivator."

 

Jackson played for the 2010 APAC Championship Team in China, before transferring to Faith West Academy.

 

Centenary College of Louisiana is an undergraduate, liberal arts college that is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is one of 16 members of the Associated Colleges of the South. The school hosts approximately 800 undergraduates.  The Centenary volleyball team is building for the future under second-year head coach Jon Stenman.  Ladies finish with 14-14 record in the 2011 season.

 

Jackson is currently a member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in physical therapy.  She is the daughter of Matt and Coby Jackson.  She reports for first practice at Centenary August 1, 2012.
