On 2008: This was the first time in 20 years that our business was down year over year. Going backward is not an option and we are working hard to make sure that 2009 is better.

Best and Worst of 2008: Hurricane Ike ­seemed to just put a spike in the real estate market. Effectively, our market lost a month of business. But I think Houston showed how special our city was after the hurricane. People stepped up and starting putting our city back together. It wasn’t whining about FEMA and the federal government bailing us out. It was about “Houston, take care of your own and let’s get back to work
