The St. Anne-Tomball Crusaders defeated John Paul II on October 25 to capture the Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association Soccer Championship. The championship game, played at Strake Jesuit, concluded four days of playoff soccer that saw the Crusaders defeat Holy Rosary in the first round, Regis in the second round, and St. Anne–Houston in the semi-finals.
The 5-2 victory over John Paul II in the championship capped off an undefeated and untied season for the Crusaders at 14-0 and marked their first GHCAA Soccer Championship in school history. St. Anne-Tomball has now earned three GHCAA city championships (Girls Basketball – 2006, Baseball – 2008, Soccer – 2008).
