            Located along Interstate 10 in West Houston, the Spring Branch Independent School District encompasses 44 square miles and includes portions of Houston and the incorporated villages of Bunker Hill, Hedwig, Hilshire, Hunters Creek, Piney Point, and Spring Valley. 

            Nationally known for educational excellence, Spring Branch ISD attracts families who place a high priority on quality education. The U.S. Department of Education has recognized 18 campuses-Bunker Hill, Frostwood, Hunters Creek, Memorial Drive, Nottingham, Ridgecrest, Rummel Creek, Spring Shadows, and Wilchester elementary schools; Memorial, Northbrook, Spring Branch, Spring Forest and Spring Oaks Middle schools; and Memorial, Northbrook, Spring Woods and Stratford high schools-for being among the best in the nation. SBISD offers a high-achieving charter middle school for grades 6-8 and an international charter middle/high school for grades 6-12. Special programs include full-day pre-kindergarten. The district has some unique facilities such as the Robert Vines Science Center & Arboretum, an ecological teaching center that is free to the public, the W.W. Emmons Natatorium, a coliseum that can accommodate more than 1,000 people, and Darrell Tully Stadium, with seating for 15,000 and an Astroturf playing surface. Spring Branch offers taxpayers every tax exemption allowed by state law resulting in lower school taxes for homeowners. School funding sources are 64 percent local and 35 percent state.
