              The Westchase District is a municipal management district, funded by local property owners to promote and encourage economic development for the corporate owners and tenants through programs that enhance public safety, area mobility, area marketing, and beautification.  The District is centrally located at the intersection of the Sam Houston Tollway and the Westpark Tollway.  In fact, Westchase is the only commercial district in the city that can be reached from any direction by four major highways, making the Westchase District very convenient for residents, area employees and visitors alike. 

                More than 1,500 businesses, including major employers such as Cameron International, Chevron, Halliburton, Jacobs Engineering and Mi Swaco are located there, and a number of other companies have invested in the Westchase District by locating their corporate headquarters there. Among them are BMC Software, National Oilwell Varco, Cardtronics, US Concrete, Men’s Wearhouse, and CGG Veritas.

                More than 71,000 employees work in the Westchase District and another 500,000 people live within five miles of the District, representing a well-educated and highly skilled labor pool and a superb consumer market. The Westchase District is adjacent to some of Houston’s most desirable neighborhoods and three premier country clubs.  With more than 2 million feet of retail space, the Westchase District’s space is  comparable to many regional shopping malls.  More than 120 restaurants, 17 hotels, 60-plus apartment and townhome communities and nearly 15 million square feet of office space are at the heart of the District.  It is also the home of five college campuses, including American InterContinental University, Houston Community College, ITT Technical Institute, LeTourneau University, and Remington College. More than 1.3 million square feet of new office space is currently under construction in eight different buildings.
