The mission of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce is to be The choice for business and community by promoting economic growth and a superior quality of life in the West Houston communities. The Chamber mission has four cornerstones:
On a monthly basis, the HWCC hosts two professional networking breakfasts, one general membership luncheon, numerous special-interest committee meetings, one networking night social, one business seminar, one formal Chamber orientation, and numerous ribbon cuttings and open houses – all open to the general public with Chamber members always receiving discounted pricing. Other yearly events primarily aimed at recognizing the work of our members, businesses, and community, and/or fund-raising are also sponsored by the HWCC.
The Chamber’s most valuable assets are its members who donate their time, talent, and dollars to provide programs and services to attract and grow member businesses and to enhance the quality of life. Today, the Chamber represents approximately 450 active, paid business members representing more than 37,000 employees. Annual membership dues range from a modest $285 up to $3,000 for Leadership Level Members. Represented at the Leadership Level are our Platinum Partner members and Chairman’s Circle members.
A Board of Directors governs the Houston West Chamber of Commerce and is responsible for all policy-making decisions. The five directors and three advisors of the Executive Committee exercise the power of the Board between meetings. Board members serve as liaisons to each of the various Special-interest Committees of the Chamber. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce is a small team of both full, part-time and volunteer, Staff.
