Located at 2200 S. Friendswood Dr. Phase I of Centennial Park opened to the public on March 17, 2002. Park includes an amphitheater, ½ mile jogging trail, restrooms, concession and picnic pavilion near the 3.5 acre lake and playground, two lighted multipurpose fields, one lighted football field, two international size soccer fields, a restroom concession and picnic pavilion near the new football and soccer fields, turf and irrigation for all the playing fields and additional parking.
The new soccer fields in Phase I are now being utilized for play. The park allows for Friendswood Youth Sports groups and the City of Friendswood to expand on local, state and national tournaments along with the expansion of current programming.
The park is also home to the 4th of July evening program and fireworks show. This past year's program attracted over 10,000 spectators. In addition to the 4th of July, the City also hosts a yearly Kidfish competition at the 3.5 acre retention pond. Last year's event was a huge success with over 400 children participating.
Old City Park
Located on Briarmeadow near Winding Way. Facilities include: picnic tables, barbecue pits, playground equipment and nature trails. A large riding arena with bleachers, concession stand and announcers booth host local horse shows and riding events. Approximately 6 acres of park land allows for parking of trucks, trailers and cars
Located at 901 Buckingham in Regency Estates. This facility is available for small and large social events, private parties and many other activities. Facilities include: restrooms, kitchen, tables, chairs and a large open area inside with playground equipment.
Renwick Sports Complex
Located at 205 Stadium Drive, behind Westwood Elementary School. This facility contains 19 acres of baseball, and multi-purpose fields which are used for various youth and adult sports leagues.
Located on 1100 South Friendswood Drive (FM 518) by Fire Station #1. This beautiful park can be enjoyed by the entire family. Facilities include: playground area, picnic tables, four lighted tennis courts and restrooms. This is also the site for Concerts in the Park. Additionally, the park contains the following facilities:
Friendswood Sesquicentennial Pool- Can be reserved for Pool Parties.
Gazebo- Lighted area can be reserved for wedding ceremonies, etc.
Pavilion- Lighted area can be reserved for reunions, company parties, etc.
*Pavilion/Gazebo are covered areas.
Tennis- Four lighted and fenced tennis courts are free to the public daily.
Sand Volleyball- Three sand volleyball courts are free to the public daily.
Basketball- Outdoor, clay court is free to the public daily.
Located off of FM 528 and Moore Road (2910 W. Parkwood). This is a 27 acre multi-purpose sports park. This facility contains 4 lighted softball fields, 3 soccer fields (2 lighted), concession stand and restrooms. A beautiful facility which accommodates girls softball and adult softball leagues.
Located at 416 Morningside. The newly renovated Activity Building houses the Friendswood Senior Citizen Program and provides fitness classes, meeting room space, etc. to the whole community. For more information please contact the Activity Building at 281-482-8441.
