Humble Independent School District is a popular choice among families moving to the Houston area due to the district’s outstanding schools, variety of housing choices and prevalence of beautiful, native trees. Humble ISD serves the communities of Atascocita, Humble, and Kingwood. Many new subdivisions along Beltway 8 are located within Humble ISD. These subdivisions include Fall Creek, Summerwood and more. A fast-growing district, Humble ISD educates approximately 33,000 students.
Humble ISD operated five high schools in 2007-2008: Atascocita High, Humble High, Kingwood High, Kingwood Park High and Quest High. The district also operated seven middle schools and 23 elementary schools. Additional schools are planned for the future as the district works to keep pace with growth and prevent overcrowding.
Humble ISD’s older high schools, Kingwood High School and Humble High School, are undergoing “extreme school makeovers” and receiving nearly $70 million total in renovations to provide students with updated learning environments.
Humble ISD’s average SAT and ACT scores exceed state and national averages and are among the highest in the Greater Houston area. The district has won national awards for music education, character education, and service-learning. Students enjoy phenomenal success in academic, athletic and fine arts contests.
