This mission of Trent InternationalE School is recognizing each child as a unique life. Through an atmosphere of respect for oneself and others, students are equipped with skills to become active learners, well rounded individuals and engaged world citizens. A flexible, individualized curriculum provides the essential building blocks for academic excellence. We are establishing a baseline of expectation that will last throughout a child's career.

Trent is dedicated to meeting the educational and developmental needs of all children with an emphasis on self-motivation and individual learning. An academic and developmental program in a nurturing environment ensures a positive and realistic attitude toward oneself, others and learning.

At Trent, we believe flexible individualized teaching methodology facilitates the implementation of a productive and creative program. The use of easy-to-handle manipulatives provide the links between theory and practice. This also enables each child to grasp concepts on a fundamental level thus maximizing understanding.

Children are curious, independent, questioning, imaginative...and these are just a few words to describe them. They have a natural eagerness to learn. The continuation of the interest depends largely upon parenting and teaching techniques.

Trent teachers, recognizing this responsibility, adapt the curriculum to fit the needs of each child.

Every child is endowed with individual talents and gifts, and we offer a broad spectrum of subjects. Diagnostic testing is one method used when a child is ready to move on to new levels. Our program permits students to progress at their own rate, while our enriched curriculum allows exposure to a wide variety of knowledge.

At Trent, we not only encourage the simple memorization of facts, but emphasize in-depth exploration and hands-on learning. This allows all students to develop an appreciation for learning and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Spanish,Music,Art, Drama, Computer, History and Science Fairs; academic competitions,sports,field trips and various other activities make Trent the ideal school for your child.

International students are able attend Language Labs throughout the day while being mainstreamed into Trent's regular classes. As with all American students our International students are provided with a curriculum that is specifically tailor-made for them. This speeds up their learning process while maintaining the same high standard that Trent is known for.

Our International students and their families are also presented with information and guidance to make their transition into a new country as smooth as possible.

A letter from our Founder

The heart of a school makes the difference. At Trent, it is the heartbeat of every child. This amazing sound quells every discordant note, and is a pure reflection of the children at peace with themselves and the world around them. As educators and parents, we have been given the privilege, for a very short time, to be their guardians, to guide and encourage them so that they may face life with the courage and understanding that who they are is perfectly alright.

Seventeen years ago, I created an innovative learning environment in my classroom where the concept of failure was never considered. I realized that learning and failing were at the opposite ends of the spectrum. I have never understood how a good teacher can accept a student's failure. I would re-teach the student by finding different methods to ensure that the student learned the subject matter. Within a short period of time, I noticed that as the student's confidence grew, they started to feel empowered in their ability to learn and succeed where they once thought it impossible. Soon, the students asked me to start a school and spread this philosophy throughout the whole school and not just in one class. Two years later, the school was born with my belief that within each child lies the potential for greatness, and rather than judging them, a school must cultivate the greatness inherent in each child.

At Trent we believe that every child is gifted. Unlike most entrance exams, where a school tests many children at the same time, I realized that in order to help maximize a child's potential, we would have to get to know them, not just by what they could do academically based on one test, but who they are as a person. To that end, I devised a different kind of testing process. We invite the child to spend the day with us. During the course of the day, we not only test the child academically but are privileged to catch a glimpse of who they are and what makes them who they are. This helps us with setting the curriculum for him/her and aids us in setting up the environment to allow a smooth transition for the child.

Trent students are held to a high standard. Comprehensive quarterly Testing© or CQT© is administered each quarter. These tests reflect all material covered from the beginning of the school year.
